Dr. Jean-Baptiste Lattouff M.D.

Research Interests:  Markers and therapeutic targets in kidney and prostate cancer.

Dr. Lattouf completed his medical training at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal in 1999. He then pursued a specialization in urological surgery and obtained his certification from the Collège des médecins du Québec and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2004.

Dr. Lattouf then specialized for two years in urological oncology at the National Institutes of Health in the United States. It was there that he developed his expertise, particularly in the treatment of kidney and prostate cancer, as well as in clinical and basic research. He acquired laparoscopic expertise during training in Austria (Linz), one of the pioneering centers in urological laparoscopy, focusing in particular on retroperitoneal dissection for patients with testicular cancer.

Dr. Lattouf is an associate clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Montreal. He was a researcher at the Fondation de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRQS). He conducts basic research at the CHUM Research Centre on molecular biology and markers of kidney cancer. He has published over 95 peer-reviewed articles, as well as abstracts and book chapters, and is an editor for several scientific journals.

Dr. Lattouf is involved in the training of students and residents at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal. He has also been an assessor for the Medical Council of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada assessments. He is a member of the Executive Committee
